May bagong enthusiasm sa career ng young actor na si Jericho Rosales. Through an exclusive interview for PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), pinaunlakan kami ni Jericho sa aming request through the publicist of Genesis Entertainment na si Jemuel Salterio. Dito namin napag-alaman ang mga plano para sa muling pagbangon ng isa sa pinakamahuhusay na young actors ng kanyang panahon.
"Ang sarap ng sinabi mo!" bulalas ni Jericho nang bumungad siya sa amin sa Grams restaurant sa ABS-CBN compound.
Pero naidugtong namin na ang kapalit ng kanyang "pagbangon" ay ang tuluyang pagkasira ng relasyon nila ng dating kasintahan na si Heart Evangelista.
"It's just sad to hear, na ganoon ang sinasabi ng iba, na pareho kaming nawalan ng career noon dahil naghilahan kaming paibaba. Ngayon, sinasabi na blessing in disguise yun for both of us.
"Nakakalungkot lang isipin na ganoon ang palagay ng ibang tao. Hindi naman kasi totoong naghilahan kaming paibaba. Noong time na yun kasi, we were rejecting some offers. Naging very choosy kami ni Heart.
"Maraming offers noon. Pero si Heart, gaya ko, marami kaming convictions. Hindi kami basta nagtatanggap ng kung anu-ano. 'Tapos, marami pang issue, lalo na yung sa parents niya. Sinabing nagrerebelde kaming dalawa. It was a matter of timing din. At saka nagkataon lang na yung sitwasyon namin noon, mahirap," pahayag ng young actor.
We could have shied away from this topic on Heart, but Jericho seems to be moving on after the chapter of his relationship with Heart.
"Kung ako ang tatanungin, wala akong hindi magandang masasabi about Heart," sabi niya. "Tini-treasure ko pa rin kung ano yung namagitan sa aming dalawa. I never saw anybody as wonderful as Heart. When we were together, laging heaven. We had bad times, but I will always remember the relationship through rising up from the frustrations.
"We just have to end it up. Kasi kung anuman yung nangyaring hindi maganda, I just don't want to talk about it. I will just remember Heart as the best friend I have ever had. Ever!" maramdaming pahayag ni Echo.
Sa nangyari, parang wala yatang closure ang naging relasyon nila.
"It had," paglilinaw ng binata. "But it was a different kind of closure. I am moving on. I will remain a friend. That's the kind of person I am. Ganoon talaga ako, pati doon sa ibang nakarelasyon ko."
THE NEW ECHO. The new Echo, as how he describes himself now, is back to the old Jericho. "Yung wala lang, masayahin," natatawang sabi ng young actor. "I see a lot of good things na nangyayari sa akin. I am just more focused now."
Isa sa mga plano ngayon ng ABS-CBN ay ang pagsuporta sa recording career ni Jericho.
"They're playing my songs sa shows ng ABS, from my album," sabi ni Jericho. "Napapakinggan yung iba sa Pinoy Big Brother.
"'Tapos, ito ngang Malaysian soap opera. It's ABS-CBN's very first big venture with another company. The working title is...let's just call it Malaysia. May ibang pinagpipiliang title, like A Time for Us, pero hindi ko pa alam ang final. Let's just call it Malaysia.
"Sabay ipapalabas dito at sa Malaysia. Kaya lang, doon kasi, weekly. dito, weeknights. Medyo matagal mapapanood sa Malaysia. Dito, every night, mga thirty minutes. Doon, every week siguro, one hour."
Nakipag-meeting na rin daw ang kampo niya sa ABS-CBN executives na sina Cory Vidanes at Malou Santos kaugnay ng mga konsepto ng mga bagong proyektong posibleng katampukan ni Jericho sa kanyang home studio.
"Ang sabi sa akin, I'll be doing an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya with Kristine [Hermosa], and possibly, a movie with her. Just to test the waters siguro yung sa MMK.
"I'm starting to write songs again. Hopefully, before the year ends, I can come up with a new album."
SAG CARD. "Marami rin akong ginawa on the side, like the I Love U Bug movie for a U.S. film company. Nag-audition ako riyan, and got the part.
"I was so glad to be informed that my application for SAG [Screen Actors Guild of America] has been approved. I was able to do kasi a movie for an American company, and that made me qualified. I got a letter from them.
"Kaya masaya ako. I have to work on that. I mean, that will be my passport to Hollywood. Hindi ako makapaniwala when I received that letter. Wow!
"'Pag member ka ng SAG, puwede kang mag-audition, mag-build ng connections sa agents, and that's something to look forward to. That means, I can never go wrong if I'm a member of that," pagwawakas ni Jericho.
