During the star-studded red carpet premiere of Iisa Pa Lamang, the new Claudine Barretto, Gabby Concepcion and Diether Ocampo starrer as helmed by Ruel Bayani and Manny Palo at The Block SM North EDSA, was a first. It is the first teleserye to premiere outside ABS-CBN. As Claudine and Gabby’s comeback vehicle with Diether Ocampo, Susan Roces, Laurice Guillen, Angelica Panganiban, Cherry Pie Picache, it marks the return of the powerhouse drama on primetime. After the past trend of drama mixed with fantasy and action, often with computer-generated images, ABS-CBN returns to the no-excuse straightforward drama.
To start screening on July 15, the first five episodes shows how the friendship of the children Catherine Ramirez (Claudine), Miguel Castillejos (Diether) and Raphael Torralba (Gabby Concepcion) delevops in the prosperous hacienda in Amadesto, Batangas in the early ‘90s. Little did they know their lives would forever be caught in a complex web of lies, deceit and obsession. Written by Arlene Tamayo, headwriter Ma. Regina Amigo and with Rondel Lindayag as creative manager, Iisa Pa Lamang is a love story that will show the real meaning of love.
